Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

January 10, 2018

Board Members in Attendance: Nancy Grant, Larry Velte, Maureen Pettis, Mark Heppner, Jillian Mueller, and Carolyn LaRosa.

Meeting called to order: 7:30 p.m.

Approval of December 2017 Meeting Minutes:  Approved 5-0.

Treasurer’s Report:  December 2017 financials reflected the following: one CAB Operating Account with a balance of $18,981.01; two general fund CD's with balances of $5,362.36 and $5,349.88; one Reserve Study CD with a balance of $19,165.39; Other Current Assets with balances of $5,533.29 (Accounts Receivable - $6,297.71; Allowance for Bad Debts - ($1,066.88); Interest Receivable - $1.27; Prepaid Expenses - $301.19); bringing the total assets to a balance of $54,391.93. 

Old Business:

• Annual Assessments – Ten properties still have liens due to unpaid annual assessments owed to KPWCA. Two properties paid liens in the last month.    
• Audit – Board met with Goldklang and signed tax returns which were submitted to Fairfax County as required.
• Tree Removal – Board will confirm if any tree removal contracts are still pending completion and ensure that the work is done.

New Business:

• Correspondence – Board will refer a KPWCA member to the Kings Park West Civic Association for information on how to have seasonal decorations (i.e. wreaths) placed on KPWCA walls at entrances to KPWCA.
