Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

May 6, 2015

 

In attendance: Larry Velte, Mark Heppner, Maureen Pettis, Suzanne Cerney, Jillian Mueller, and Jim Bovino

Meeting called to order: 7:33 p.m.

Approval of April Meeting Minutes:   Approved 6–0

Treasurer’s Report:  Checking account balance is $18,416.43; accounts receivable balance is $1,571.60; two general fund CD’s in the amount of $5,337.71 and $5,334.32; and reserve study CD is $17,582.13, bringing the total to: $48,544.65.

 

Old Business:

·         Streambed Erosion – No update available in reference to a stream eroding common land behind a homeowner’s property.  The Board is waiting on further information from the County, and our dialog with the County continues.

·         Annual Tree Survey – The Board conducted the annual tree survey April 11, 2015.  The Board identified about seven trees threatening damage to KPW homeowner properties and selected a bid from a tree service company to have those trees dropped in the woods.  Additionally, an exposed storm drain pipe was discovered and the Board notified Fairfax County.   

 

New Business:

·         Civic Association Relationship – Maureen and Jim attended the KPW Civic Association meeting held May 5th.  They reported that Civic Association members elected new board directors to the Civic Association; as a result, there is no change to the relationship between KPW Community Association and KPW Civic Association; the Community Association will not be assuming any Civic Association monies or responsibilities.

·         Annual Meeting Preparation – The Board provided information on the upcoming annual meeting in the April 2015 Herald and on the KPW Community Association website.  The Board will have two positions open for election at the annual meeting.  The Board reviewed the annual meeting letter that was to be mailed to members in advance of the annual meeting scheduled for May 11 in the Robinson High School Recital Hall.
