Kings Park West Community Association

Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

February 17, 2010

In attendance: Joe Meyer, Linda Fournier, Linda Bufano, Larry Velte, Virginia Scattergood, Jim Messinger

Meeting called to order at 7:35pm.

Approval of January Meeting Minutes: The January minutes were approved electronically. The November minutes were distributed and reviewed; Linda B. motioned to approve them, Virginia seconded.  Approved 6-0.

Treasurer’s Report: The board was informed that the current checking account balance is $13,940.50; there are 2 general fund CD’s in the amount of $5,162.50 each; 3 general fund CD’s in the amount of $5,308.04 each; and the reserve at $10,789.46 bringing the grand total to: $50,979.08.

Assessment Response:  23 homes have not paid the 2010 dues; out of this 10 have liens from prior years.

Old Business:  Tree removal- the tree on Ashcroft that went down last summer (just missed a homeowner’s shed, was visible and on the edge of the property line) will be removed since another tree is down and needs to be removed.  That one is on Nottinghill- it knocked into a homeowner’s trees, splintering them.  The fallen tree is still on the property. The Board received an estimate of $1800 to remove both trees.

New business:  Snow removal at the corner of Roberts and Commonwealth is the responsibility of the Board since we own the path going toward the school. Paths were cleared by volunteers after the snowstorms. In the future, we would want to hire someone to remove it. Jim has some phone calls out so we could have someone “on call” for future snow removal at that corner.

Entrance wall at Sideburn and Commonwealth needs to have maintenance done. There is an ongoing fundraiser through the Civic Association for refurbishing the wall.

Communications from members: A non-member from Friendship Court expressed support for the parking district and asked for it to be expanded.  Joe informed the person that they would need to speak with the county.

Hearing no new business, Linda F. motioned to adjourn, Linda B. seconded. Adjourned at 8:00pm.
